Yea the one I test drove was out at Toyota of Cleveland and I've talked to the guys over at Capital who told me they aren't discounting them at all. I ordered mine in Nashville and got it for $400 over invoice through a guy that my brother-in-law and sister have both bought cars through. Capital actually called me 2 weeks ago and asked if I was still looking to purchase one. I told him the deal I got and he told me he wouldn't even waste my time trying to talk me into coming to him cause he couldn't touch it. I had a salesman at North Georgia tell me the same thing and actually said he didn't believe me so I showed him the papers. How was the trail on Lookout? I have never done any type of off-roading before but I want to get into it. Just don't want to get in over my head with a brand new $40,000 truck.

I desert striped the hell out of my truck and picked this up from O'reilly. It took all but one of the deeper scratches out. Paint looks brand new. It's tedious work but rewarding after you're done and see clean paint again.

Is that realistic to use over the whole truck? I'm still crying after pinstriping pretty much every inch of the truck, and am considering my options -- finding something I can do or bringing it somewhere that can do something professionally.

    My poor girl...

I'm sure I'll get over it.

I guess it depends on how much time you're willing to put into it. I did the same thing. Desert striping all the way down both sides. It took me about 15 hours over 3 days. I ended up buying full size equivalents of the 3000 grit sandpaper and the rubbing and polish compounds since the kit only has sample sizes. I'm not sure if at that point it would have been smarter to just buy a full DA polisher, I did like the smaller heads from the kit since I had to get into all the curves of the metal, and it was nice to be able to just use my drill. So it was a ton of work but I just couldn't stand looking at my brand new paint all scratched up. Now that my back and hands have recovered I'm super glad I did it.

I should also point out that if I had the money I would have taken it to a professional in a heart beat! LOL But all in all this solution only cost me about 50 bucks and a lot of time. Luckily the weather is gorgeous in AZ right now so I didn't mind spending two Saturdays and Sunday sanding, rubbing, polishing, washing and waxing.

Damn, I think I need to try something like that. My passenger side looks at least as bad as your pics (says something about my driving that it's the passenger side that takes all the brush). I was going to bite the bullet and pay to get it buffed/detailed, but I might try one of those kits first.

So you use that with a drill? Did you use any compound like meguiars? Thanks, and that after pic looks great.

Edit: just read your other posts.

Good deal. Just get some recover gear and stay safe. I won't do things I don't know I can safely navigate. There have been times when I have turned around in my 2016. Just be safe

My biggest fear is crushing the exhaust line that goes under the transfer case.

I've always had cars and have never even thought about doing anything off-road, but you guys/gals look like you have a blast. And in a lot of beautiful places too. I'm sure there is still a lot I can do with the 4x2, just feel like maybe I sold myself short here.

For how I use my truck, I'd be getting towed/pulled out of places once a week if i had 2wd

Yeah I'm sure that's what I'll do as well. This will be my first new vehicle I've bought for myself. As much as I want to take it off-road and explore, I still want to keep it looking good and not damage it. I'm sure as time goes on and I get more experienced off-road I'll open my mind to more demanding trails but I want to work my way up to that.

Off-Roaded on the pavement a little today. Lol! Not sure the pics do this incline justice but it was "pucker factor" steep. I was very impressed with the approach angle in these bumpers...

wowo that is steep and you had it rolled a lot too.

I have not touched the front bumper to the ground, yet, but I have dragged the receiver through the dirt a few times.....

As a guy who builds roads for a living, the concrete slope protection is usually around a 3:1 slope, or 1 foot fall for every 3 foot you run... or ~33% or ~18 degree slope. Sometimes they are steeper than that though, it really depends on when & where it was built. Some can reach up to a 2:1 slope, or 50%/26 degrees. That one looks like about a 2.5:1, but hard to say from just eyeballing it.

They are crazy hard on the ankles walking up and down those or standing on them for a long period of time.
