More drive train related, but didn't see a sub-forum for that.

I have a carrier bearing going out on my 2 piece driveshaft (2010 4.0 4X4 base model)

I really don't want to replace that carrier bearing, I would rather just upgrade to a 1 piece solid driveshaft.

You folks have some links to where I can buy one?

    Thanks,

    Jared

Id find a driveshaft shop and have them make you one. Probably save a couple of bucks and get a better one.

Up here in the Northeast, Fleet Pride has a drive shaft shop with overnight service. They just need the measurement from the tranny seal surface to the saddle flat on the yoke along with the slip yoke and they'll whittle you up one fast and fairly cheap. Have yet to make one for the Tacoma but had a few made for classic cars that I restored.

It would be nice sometimes for the poster to at least mention where he lives even if not specific. I know a great local one but honestly, if the poster lives in Hawaii or Alaska or California, it won't do him much good at all.

Do you know what the measurements for the flanges are on the Tom Wood's one piece shafts? I may go down this route soon myself. I never did like 2 piecers.

Thanks for the info. I know Fleet Pride very well. I used to support a large fleet for a big oil company.

So I have sent a few RFQs to a few local shops here around Houston. I will post what they say.

Need to do something soon because that carrier bearing is noisy at take off and only going to get worse.
