After talking it over and comparing the two (sas vs. 4wd swap), I think im gonna put a solid axle in the front with leafs and do a sas. With that being said, I am on the hunt for an 84-85 yota front axle, front drive shaft, 79-85 yota 4 cylinder transfer case, IFS Steering box from 86-94 toyota pickup and a t 100 oil pan if anyone has any leads or knows any deals. Been searching craigslist but never hurts to put it out there.

And with that, once I do the swap, my camburg ucas, fox coilovers and shocks, dakar leaf pack, and front bumper will be for sale if anyone is interested.

Running some errands tomorrow then dropping the bed rack off to get powder coated. Cleaned it up for the last time and took everything off. Looks pretty naked.

Had some scrap 1" tubing laying around and broke a shovel a while ago. Used the two to make a shovel for the truck. Nothing fancy, but I think it turned out pretty good!

Really liked how the end caps on the handle turned out. Welded a washer to the end and filled in the middle then grinded it all smooth.

And where itll be mounted. Dropping it off with the rack and will have it powder coated as well.

Does that make me "overland material"? Or do I need an axe to? :headbang:

I actually had a lot of fun making it. More than I usually do even with all the grinding it took. My welds are getting better. Like everything, takes time and patience haha

1985 Toyota Pickup front axle with "possible" 4.88s and maybe a locker. Have to pull the 3rd to check. Had "rearched" leafs and some weird shock mount and custom high steer. Guy I bought it from had it in a really tall 85 with a chevy v8 in it. Also got an 85 steering box and front drive shaft.

How it sits as of today.

Also went to the junkyard and got a 1990 4runner ifs steering box with the pitman arm and steering shaft. Going to take the 85 box back down to get the core refund from the junkyard.

Forgot to post the picture but got the driver side seat in and all painted. Super comfy and overall real happy even if it was a ton of work.

And the truck has been rackless for about a week now. Dropped it off to get powder coated and should be picking it up at the end of this week.

Found the holy grail of all junk yards today... An all toyota pickup and 4runner junk yard. Literally had every part from 79-2015. Mainly older trucks though. Had a guy at another yard we were looking through tell us about it. The owner was a real nice guy and was willing to work with prices a lot. Will be contacting and buying from him again very soon.

Got the 85-88 4wd Leafs for the front
[IMG]2016-03-01_01-06-48 by Harrison M, on Flickr

Got the ifs hubs also from a 92 with the locking hubs. Didnt need the locking hubs but he pratically gave them away to me at the price we I got them for.

Last thing to get is a set of chevy leafs for the rear and then I will have everything needed to start the swap. Once my shippment arrives of course.

Got the axle torn down today. Learned it has 5.71s not 4.88s... Pretty bummed on that so will be ordering a locker and gears for front and rear soon. Along with an axle rebuild kit for all new seals. Also a lot of the parts will be here Friday! Cant wait.
