This is the driver side and best guess is the leaks coming from the cracked boot, also recently been hearing this screech while coasting without hitting the gas which brought me to this discovery

depending on mileage it might be time to replace the CV joint. If you go sharp left or right do you hear clicking/popping noise?

Sometimes its easier to replace the CV joint than to replace the boot. Also, better, if you've been driving it for awhile with no lube. You can see that the boot is weathered in the photo. Must be an older truck. Up here in Canada, in the snow and ice where I live, driving through hard packed driveways where the snow plow stacks up the chunks of snow and ice can cause a ripped boot as well.

Ya where i live i got alot of roundabouts so can hear it then, and slow tight turns. Whats the damage at the autobody? Dont have much to work on it at my apartment and shes at 165k so thinking of doing some preventative maintanance while shes in the shop. Any suggestions on what to replace? Thanks all!

And yes colorados snowpack is pretty lethal or was a month ago. Was really giving here in the backcountry slush. Trucks an 05 by the way so might be worthwhile changing both sides.
