I found this weird when I took a look at CR's sub category ratings. Doesn't seem to add up, but oh well it gives Tacoma owners something to hang their hat on haha

I've noticed the same thing on other vehicles' reviews. The parts don't add up to the sum. Not sure what is going on.

What about the "billions" GM is investing(spending) in China? Corporate profits don't always do us any good. Americans built my Tacoma, and that's better than buying a "Chinese-made" Buick in my eyes...

Yea. Consumer reports said 'much less than average' for reliability for several GM vehicals, including the half ton Silverado.

But really, the only way you can tell if something is reliable is to drive it for 200,000 miles and save your repair receipts. The less receipts, the more reliable it is :)

I mean, it's not like the 2016 Taco is perfect either. Lots of people with the tow package and an automatic tranny are having issues with the fluid being low from the factory. GM would get flamed for that :).

I daily drive a 2002 S10 with over 250,000 Miles on it. It's been a pretty good truck. It does need a front suspension overhaul... the AC compressor went out... it's been pretty good otherwise. It's been in a few wrecks that didn't help the front suspension any.

Plenty of GM vehicles make it well over 200K.

I'm looking at the Tacoma over the Colorado after sitting in them and finding the Tacoma a little more comfortable (though the Colorado had more room to move the seat back). I also felt the inside was a little better put together. The resale is a bit obscene, but almost anything with four wheel drive is.... the Tacoma mostly so.

I don't wear bow ties or buy them. Or drive them. Or park by them. And so on.

At the end of the day it's still a GM vehicle. Anyone thinks it's funny how GM has a butt load of cars ranked "highest in initial quality." And no awards for reliability or longevity.

So I guess what they are saying is, "we will give you a really good car when you buy it but don't expect it to last too long."
