Had my serpentine belt replaced and my tires rotated 2 days ago. The truck now has a noticeable vibration at the steering wheel. It's most prominent when I give it gas around 35-40 mph. Could it be the tire rotation? The tires are BFG KO2 with only 5K miles. I'm running 34psi and never had issue before?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

First, you should check all the lug nuts for looseness. Maybe they forgot to torque one wheel.

Then, check the new belt to verify that it is properly installed. If you are not sure how to do that, take it back to the shop that did the work, and have them do it.

Thanks @tan4x4. Someone else mentioned I should get the wheels re-balanced?

An out-of-balance condition would only show up at faster speeds. You mentioned a 'slow roll'.

I feel it once I've hit about 20mph but it seems to settle when I lay off the gas pedal. It gets more intense again when I'm lightly gassing it around 40mph.

Will definitely take it back to the shop tomorrow after I check the lug nuts.

    Okay I'm back.
All my lugs are tight and did a quick inspection under the hood. Belt looks to be tight and on correctly. Paying more attention I'm now noticing the vibration really kicks in around 35 mph and is very noticeable at 40-50 mph.
Does this sound like a wheel balance issue?

That is always a possibility, but harder to check yourself unless you have a wheel balancer handy.
You could check to see if the balancing weights are still there. I've had them come off before, but
only when they are stripped from rock-crawling.

In the steering wheel. I checked the U joints and they are fine.

possible one of the tires is out of balance, you might have a warped rotor or dragging brake caliper...in the realm of possibilities

Okay so I had the wheels rebalanced yesterday and it's better but not completely gone. Still getting some vibration through the steering wheel at around 40mph. :frusty: The wife says she doesn't feel it but I do and it's annoying the heck out of me.

It feels like I'm riding asphalt on MT tires. PSI is good and like I said my KO2 only have 5K miles and no visible warp or wear. Any other possible solutions?

So far, we've all focused on what could have happened during the rotation/belt work you had done.
Are you certain that all was perfect up to that point?

did you grease them? also did you check the center bearing? CV joints, and maybe wheel bearings?

Yes all was fine. I walked in wanting to rotate my tires, noticed the belt was frayed and said replace that too. Left the shop and was in a rush to get my kid from school. Noticed the vibration but didn't have time to go back. Did some investigating, found nothing. Took it back yesterday and had the wheels balanced. Drove home and the %#$&:censored: vibration is still there. Again, didn't have time to go back. Drove today about 150 miles and it's gotten worse.

It's only happening when I accelerate. If I'm going 65mph on the highway and let off the gas it stops. The second I start to gas it the whole dash and steering wheel vibrate. Now even my wife is like WTF?

Could be hanger bearing or a rusty out of ballance shaft
