How to remove wiper blade assembly from wiper arm?

I am embarrassed.

Such a simple task as changing a wiper blade seems to have exceeded my capacity.
In my long years of driving, the standard "J-hook" seemed to be installed on all wiper arms, and it was an easy task to depress the little locking lever, remove the blade assembly, and change it.

However, although the 2016 Tacoma seems to have a J-hook, I can't find the little locking lever!
Did they disguise it, bury it in the plastic bits, or will it take a trained Toyota Tech to remove the wiper blade assembly when the wipers start to streak the windows?

Yes, I looked in the Owners Manual, under the "Do It Yourself Maintenance" ... and a description of changing wiper blades was not there!

So, if any of you have changed the blades (or know how to change the blades) on a 2016 Tacoma, please relieve an old f*rt of his embarrassment, and post a good description (with pictures, if possible).

I use a key and pop up the locking pin on the edge of the wiper arm.

 

Okay, here's how this was GOING to have gone down. I went outside with my phone to pop it off, provide instructions, and call you out for trolling. 5 minutes later and 18 utterances of the phrases "what the fuck?" or "come loose mother fucker!" I have determined that you are not an idiot.

I couldn't get the damn thing off either.

Just to feel good about myself, I popped my wife's blades off her Prius and put them back on.

Now I'm looking for instructions because I need to know!

There is a plastic cover on the top that flips up. Use a screw driver or something, and then just slide it off the J-hook ... easy peasy ... I'll put a pic up in a minute

And then it slides right off ... ......

 

I'm in the same boat can't figure out how mine come off lol. I asked at the dealership about purchasing inserts for the oem blades at the dealership and they said they are available.

 

I watched that Camry blades video, and yeah, that's it. I didn't apply enough oomph to it because I wasn't ready to put new blades on and didn't want to break anything. Curiousity has been satisfied.

Thank you for posting the video and pics! You just saved a BUNCH of cussing when I went out and looked at my 2017 Taco wiper blades. You'd think something as simple and routine maintenance like changing wiper blades would be included in the manual, but no such luck! Grrrr! Don't need to go to the stealership to change blades!
