Been noticing the breaks on my 2008 tacoma have been getting a little squeeky, I don't believe they have ever been replaced (75k miles). I have a few DIY questions: Ive come to the conclusion replacing the break pads is pretty simple?

    1) Best brand of break pads? I hear NAPA pads are pretty good?

    2) Rotors: Whats the rule of thumb for replacing rotors e.g. mileage intervals or millimeter thickness?

    3) Is a break fluid 'flush' necessary?

    THANK YOU!

Brake not Break. I know It is anal, but it drives me crazy...

OEM Brake Pads are the best IMO.
Rotors if they are not cooked ( blue spots etc ) smooth. I would just measure them and if in spec let it roll.

I just finished out a set of Wagner ThermoQuiet pads and was very pleased with them. When those were put on around the 70,xxx range, the rotors were turned then also. The next change was around 120,xxx, I went with the PowerStop Pad and Rotor Kit part # KOE 137 and love them. One thing worth mentioning is I followed their break in procedure to load the rotor evenly with pad material. For the money it's a great replacement system. Another thing is to make sure you replace the slide pins and lube them up real good with brake caliper slide grease.

am-autoparts, 89 dollars for pads and rotors delivered, get the ceramic pads which is what OEM is. Just remember to bed them in by getting them hot on the first run. (about 5mi)

Put these on my truck about 6mo ago and am very happy with them so far.
