You will get more clearance with a 3" lift :anonymous:

    Whole lotta stuff
As stated above, your issue with fitting 295s isn't with how much lift you have, a 3" lift will give you enough tire to fender clearance. Your problem would be figuring out the correct backspacing on your wheel to keep the tire from rubbing on the inner fenderwell and cab mounts. A 4" lift would actually make the problem worse because as you extend your upper and lower control arms, you bring the entire hub slightly closer to those obstructions.

Im really just doing it for looks as i dont do a lot of off roading now, but the reason i say a 4 inch lift is because i found one with tuff country that comes with the uca's and everything for less than i could buy a 3 inch and uca's. For rims i plan on keeping the stock ones for now and just getting some spacers.

    @Rock Lobster

There's a reason those are cheaper; cheaper quality, crappy ride and the list goes on and on.

    Buy once, cry once.

Let me know your budget and I can recommend you something better that you will be happy with.

5100's all around with an AAL in the rear for under 2.5" and you won't need UCA's

But that's on your budget. I give you 6 months or less with "junk country" lift before pure shopping around for something better. Lifting isn't a cheap feat, there's a right way to do it and tuff country, rough country and pro comp aren't it.

My tires cost more than your budget stated above, and I opted for a less expensive lift. Set your priorities, do your research, then spend your money. Do this right the first time - listen to @geekhouse23

There's a thread somewhere with all the basic info about lifting these trucks. There are many others which are less consolidated, but have great info (with a few rogue opinions sprinkled in)
