    I'm picking up a used shell off a 2013 going on a 2012.
When looking at the bed rails the front bed is lower and stepped vs the sides and back.

Are the shells made for that gap does that area get filled with rubber or foam.

Going to get it tuesday and need to do something.
It is used and comes with the mounts just not the foam or anything as it is not on a truck.

    Thoughts?
looks like a 3/4" or more gap. Looks a lot to just add foam.

The caps are not made to accommodate this gap. Tacomas are known for leaking in the front corners. Here is a solution that was recommended to me. http://www.extrudedsolutions.com/
