Im looking for a truck bed cover for my 5' bed. I'm not really sure what kind I want so I was just wondering what people thought about certain brands. Ready, go!

It ALL depends on what YOU want from a cover.
Do you just want something that looks good and keeps out prying eyes...a soft tonneau.
    A solid/watertight/secure lid...a fiberglass top.
Hard cover security without regard to full bed usage...a "roll top" type cover.
Bed access and fairly secure/almost watertight...a sectioned folding cover.

When you narrow down what you are looking for, there will be TONS of advice here.

I can tell you that I have owned all four and now have a Fold-a-cover G4 Elite (and love it).

I am in the market, ready to pull the trigger as well: Extang 2.0 Solid Tri fold.

My needs: something that can be quickly, very easily removed- but still secure when on. I already have separate kayak racks which I can also set up and take down, quickly. I believe the Extang 2.0 will be used whenever I am not kayaking. Just not a shell type person at this time.

I have a trifold cover...think its called a Trifecta? It seals very well, keeps stuff covered, is removable in less than 2 minutes by hand alone and stores easily. However...lets be frank...anyone with a knife can get into it in a second. ;)

If you decide that a hardcover is what you want, then I would recommend 'Jason Products' model Rage in colour matched - had one on my 2012 DC Sport 6' box and just installed a new one on my 2016 DC OR - perfect fit, style, watertight, lockable, colouring - better than previous Leer or ARE in my opinion - check out their web site - USA made

You will want a topper unless you haul very large items that are taller than the roof of the truck. I went with a tonneau and hated it. Should have got the topper when I was initially shopping..
