Light racing upper control arms

Whats the realistic time it would take to install these on a 16 tacoma. Was quoted today 1295.00 plus 5 percent tax including a wheel alignment for parts and labour. 649 for the control arms plus tax. Im in Canada

 

That sounds high to me, I got arms, shocks installed and alignment for $650.00 but I also live in CA. Hope this helps.

 

$650.00 CAD for the control arms is a good price with where the dollar is at right now. As for labour, 2 (maybe 2.5) hours should be plenty for a shop to charge. Call that $280.00 for 2 hours (in my neck of the woods). Alignment = $120.00. Total of $1050.00 + tax.

 

You can install them on your own. It's not that hard. I would give yourself 3-4 hours if you are pretty new to working on vehicles.

 

It took me about 2.5 hours per side to do both new OME coils and LR UCA. If I would have just done the UCA I'm guessing about an hour each side. I did pay $64 for an alignment and they were able to hit the numbers I want right on the head. The last Tacoma I had was done by a shop basically with the same set up charged me $650 including alignment.

 

That sounds pricey.

In Hawaii where everything is super expensive I paid a shop to install ICON Stage III with UCA's, rear AAL, mount and balance 4 wheels about $950. That included taking the sensors out of my stock toyota wheels and placing them in my new wheels.

 

Im a licensed heavy duty mechanic. We lost our shop privalages cause one of the mechanics was doing some bad stuff in the shop after hours. I was just wondering if the quote was resonable. I will tackle it in the driveway at home no problem. Sometimes if the quote is decent i would let the local shop do it to save me the hassle of im busy.

 

Alldata time is around 2.5 hours.
