Yes, up front. I didn't get to check that well before it got dark but looks like the driver's side front mud flap is going to need a knife and hammer. Hopefully I don't have to do anything more than you did!

Thanks! Couldn't have done it without you.

I bet, but you've got a pretty sick replacement!

Yeah, both mud flaps rub for me but not enough for me to do anything to them. Passenger side tire rubs the washer fluid tank when i turn fast and it compresses the suspension. And front of rear wheel fenders. I just need one of those plates that moves the axle back a bit.

Thanks! I'm used to working on a budget so you learn how to make things the way you want them instead of having the money to buy want you really want! Now I have the money but I'm so satisfied with my work that I don't plan to replace anything.

Had a blast at the NorCal mod day yesterday and got all my electrical sorted out and the truck ready for more accessories. I had ordered a blue sea fuse box, 100A circuit breaker, new battery terminals, Anti-Dark kit, and a few other bits a while back and have just been waiting for mod day!

I bought a Paranoid Fabrications Bussman relay holder to put in the upper corner of my engine bay to house all the electrical. However, come to find out not all 1st gens are made alike and I had a bunch of evap system nonsense in the way. So I had to spend a good part of my time devising a way to make it all work. After debating options with some fellow TW members, I decide it would be easiest to simply make a small 6" bracket to mount the relay holder to a stock mount point for the evap system. @MJonAgs32 happened to have a piece of flat stock lying around that I cut and bent to fit. His drill press was clutch in making every hole to perfection.

Next came all the wiring, replacing old hack jobs, and adding in shiny new sleeved cables. If I could do it again, and I may adjust this later, I would alter the position of the breaker in relation to the fuse box since the positive terminals are so close together it makes create a patch connector very difficult.

And so hours later, with the breaker open, the Anti-Dark kit installed, and everything finished, it just happened to be dark out when I reset the breaker and the power came on illuminating the engine bay and the day's work!

Thanks to everyone that helped and kept me company and especially Alvin for driving me to the store!

Love this build, man. The truck looks extremely clean with the black and silver color scheme offset by the gunmetal F5's... very nice. I have a question about the grille/corner lights that you installed from Amazon... did you paint those before you installed them? Also, how are they holding up? Finally, do you recall the name of the seller you purchased from?

Thank you, that's very nice to hear! The grille came as a matte black paintable finish and the corner lights came in a satin black finish. You can't tell a difference unless you know they are different. I specifically looked for something I wouldn't have to paint since painting plastic on the front end doesn't hold up well to road debris. Here are the links to what I bought: Grille / Corner Lights. The prices have gone up it seems...

So far, they are holding up wonderfully. They installed easily, fit identically to OEM, and I have only great things to say about them. Worth the money, especially if you might want to try your hand at satoshi'ing.

Thanks for the feedback. Prior to your post I went on Amazon and looked around, found those same corners, and saved them. I've already picked up a black grille off craigslist and it seems to be similar to what you have. It's a matte black plastic and I've been debating whether or not I should paint it.

Keep up the good work, man.

Are you think of painting it black or color matching? If black, I would install it first and see what you think of the black plastic and go from there. If I can forgo painting, I will take that route 10/10 times!

More mods to come including a Tundra brake upgrade so I appreciate your incredibly detailed and outstanding right up on the 4-runner forum! I'll try to do half as good a job as you did.

I'm looking at both options. I did a Satoshi on my 4Runner and color matched it, but like you mentioned before, the paint doesn't hold up well to bugs, rocks, etc. 3 years later it's showing a lot of wear. I figured if I did black paint on top of black plastic it wouldn't be as big a deal, but yours looks great without paint, so I'm thinking I'll go that route and just install without painting.

I'm glad the write-up was a help to you... I never imagined that thread would get so much use/traffic.

Don't think I am subbed here. Sweet truck! One question though... How do you open your fuse box with the blue sea on top of it?

Thanks! I can remove the bolt from the base plate to the bracket and tilt it up towards the engine since I left a bit of slack in my wiring. However, this is just a theory as i have not tested it. If that doesn't work, then I'd have to remove some wiring. Its not ideal, but its the best option I could come up with that morning.

That snorkel was a bit of a battle, but well worth the money savings over the ARB model
