I have never seen conversion kits for Tacoma's like there are for Dodge and Chevy's. I put a EMS unit on my 2006 Dodge 2500, it entailed the replacing of the unit bearing and outer shaft on the axle shaft. They took Dana 60 Ford spindles and drilled them for the dodge knuckle. The EMS system used standardized Dana 60 bearing and seals. For converting the Tacoma, someone would have to design and produce a spindle to mound on the knuckle, and source bearings and seals that would work. Cost for the EMS system was in the neighborhood of $1600 if I recall correctly. Question would be would the fuel savings pay you back?

I contacted Rob at Four Wheel Fabrication in Goleta CA. Very smart guy. Said he doesn't knw of anyone currently making lockouts for the front of the later ( mine's an '06) Tacos.
I'd like to find a compatible transfer case with a neutral hole so I can tow it without a driveline disconnect. I have a disconnect on mine now and haven't had any issues....yet. I just know if parts can be had for them any longer as the original manufacturer stopped making them.

My friend on the big island of Hawaii is making/developing/testing a kit. He asked me if I wanted to try set. Check him out on IG.

Thanks @bullaculla! Been working on this off and on for the past couple years. This will work on 05-15 Tacoma, 03-16 4Runner and 06-14 FJ Cruiser. As for the 2016 Tacomas, I will be installing a set on one as soon as I get the axles done. They also use the same axle/bearing/hub design so should bolt right up. There will be a few sets available soon. I had a prototype kit bolted to my 2014 4Runner with no problems. Any questions feel free to ask!

Busted CV boots and lots of squeaks.
Interested to see where this goes.

Are these parts sourced from other vehicle applications to work with Toyota, or something that is custom fabricated for it?

What keeps the wheel bearing assembly tight, is the current axel shaft nut reused ?
