Can anybody recommend me a good app and Bluetooth OBDII plug for my iPhone? I know the standalone Ultraguage is pretty popular on this forum but I'd like to use my phone if at all possible to track information.

I use the "Automatic" app on my phone to track my gas mileage. To use the app you have to purchase the OBD fob and it connects to your phone via Bluetooth. With the same gob I use another app called "Dash Command" that give real time engine diagnostics

I use and recommend the ELM327, you can get it on ebay, Amazon, pretty much anywhere. iPhones only work with wifi and don't support any bluetooth adapters. I used both DashCommand and OBD Fusion, I like OBD Fusion more and pretty much only use it. My only disappointment is that neither will show you the fuel level values. I believe this is a limit to what info comes across on the OBDII port though so I don't think the scanguages do it either.

I have extra iPhone jailbroken and configured to open and launch the app when power is added and locks the display when power is taken away. I show, total mpg, instant mpg, intake temp, rpms and a few others on my main dashboard.

Nice! I like this. Where'd you buy your fob from? Just wondering if other online stores sell for cheaper than $99 that the Automatic site sells it for. THanks

Dash command has a lot of features and you can make your own displays. I'm using one someone had made up cause you need some pc knowledge to do it.

I tried out ODB fusion and it seems decent.

I used Carista to shut off the seat belt chime on my wife's highlander, I still have to try it out to see if it works on the tacoma.

I'll check mine when I get off work and let you know, I know for sure it does gas mileage, instant and total.

Yes, but of course I can't remember, give me a few and i'll run out to my truck and take a look. Wifi, iPhones have to use wifi, last time I checked iOS devices don't support bluetooth obdii, I could be wrong, but at least when I was looking there weren't any.

Ultragauge also makes a bluetooth version called UltraGauge Blue, looks to be $79.95 right now. Works with both android and iphone and has fully customizable screens.
