First, I am no audiophile, and I am happy with the JBL system. However, it sounds like all of the mid range and highs come from the front only. It sounds fine at any volume, just heavily balanced to the front, and I keep the seat all the way back, I hope that makes sense. If I move the sound balance all the way to the rear it is seems muted/muddy. I notice this the most with voices, like the DJ talking etc.

I will obviously let the warranty address the issue(if it is one), but since I am most likely not going to be able to compare it to another JBL system on the lot, I thought I would ask here if anyone else has noticed the same thing? Or maybe the system designed that way?

    Thanks!

I have my balance at 65 front 45 rear. I keep my back seats down 99% of the time so those speakers are blocked for the most part. But the sub is not. No complaints with the JBL and how it's tied into the rest of the indicators.

The bass on the JBL seems a touch... how should I say this... Civic-thump-o-rific. Try turning it down more than you would think is necessary and see if that helps. It did for me.

I can't say I've noticed that, but I'll try listening to it and seeing if I can mimic that.

I've never been in a car where I haven't had to move the balance to the rear and I'm in rental cars fairly often so I've seen my fair share of different cars and SUVs.
