Factory remote start of aftermarket?

I bought my Taco used a little over a month ago and it has remote start with a separate remote. I'm not sure though if it came this way from Toyota or if it was added later, is there an easy way to tell? I wasn't sure if the fact that it has it's own remote separate from the lock/unlock is a giveaway or not? Thanks!

 

AFAIK no Tacomas (Gen 1/2) came with "factory" remote start. Keyless entry/alarm sure

 

Ok thanks, I was mostly hoping to figure out where to get a replacement remote from if I end up needing one, guess I'll cross that bridge when I need to.

 

was there a book or anything left by the previous owner?

No book about it unfortunately, the remote has www.readyremote.com which appears to be a company that just manufactures remotes lol, but I did follow that to find dealers in my area so if I do ever need to replace it I can just visit one near me hopefully, thank you for making me think more than I did
