So woke up this morning and it was -30C or -22F again like yesterday and it was too cold to work.

I am a roofer and we did all the prep work yesterday and it is too cold to run a compressor for nail guns or most tools so boss cancelled work.

I am not one to sit around so finally got to add some things to my taco that I have ordered.

I don't have a garage where I live so just had to lay a tarp on the ground man up and go to work in the cold on the snow.

First up I removed my Ontario plates from front and rear and added my new Alberta plate, rear only which I have been meaning to do for the past week.

Then I installed my new valley/uhaul class 3/4 hitch I purchased from eBay. Was a really easy installation took about 30 minutes :) I already had the harness installed so this was all I needed. Got it for $119 shipped to Canada if anyone else wants a good deal!

Then I put in my new fog lights I bought off the forum, hooked up the wiring harness. I need to order the relay and switch (doing today) before they will work but even not working they look 10X better than those stupid plastic inserts.

Now that my I can feel my fingers again its time to surf the net and find those fog light parts and I think I will order a US spec iPod adaptor since I am driving 3 hours a day a moment to/from work :D

Looks sweet! I'm dealing with the same weather but no way would I be out there modding my truck! Kudos to you.

I have a buddy that's working around there too, sounds like a pretty sweet spot.

Well done on the mods, and welcome to Alberta.

Nice job on the mods. I wouldn't bother with the iPod adapter as they are hard to find for very cheap. Usually an aftermarket deck can be done for not much more $.

I was sitting at somewhere between -8*F and -4*F last night depending on where in town I was. Coldest weather ive seen out here, usually it only hits the single digits every once in a while but it actually went negative with this cold front. Today the high has been 17*F, still damn cold but looks like I may be doing some modding tomorrow as I just called AllPro and it looks like my side wraps for my rear bumper were delivered this afternoon! :D:bananadance:

thanks man, they look alot better when they are clean in summer. I would like to paint my front bumper white and leave the fenders black. Solid rear window is sweet in a double cab as you can't reach a slider from the front anyway

I want to just keep it stock looking I think, just want to be able to hide my iPod away and have control on the deck. I know aftermarket ones have alot more functions but I don't need them.

Was totally worth it! I can now tow the work trailer and I got those plastic fog inserts had been bothering me since I bought the truck

two hours working on the truck was pleasant compared to the 9 hours I spent stripping shingles on the roof in Calgary yesterday.

It is definitely a big adjustment since I am from New Zealand where I grew up it never dropped below freezing!

When its that cold I don't even venture away from the heater unless I have to :p

I used to work with a landscape contractor and be outside from the crack of dawn when it was around 5-10 degrees F for 8 hours every day in the winter. The only way to get any feeling back in your hands was to hold onto the tractor muffler till your gloves started smoking. Not gonna put myself out in that shit again unless its life or death :p
