People here don't seem to fond of the Purple. Personally I use Mobil 1, and change it regularly, not "synthetic intervals."
I don't know how I feel about additives, you should be ok without it. I'd be concerned about causing more issues with the stuff.

Cheaper, and better according to many tests. Purple actually has been known to cause issues for some.
    NP buddy.

My guess is that RP saw how popular SeaFoam is and made their own branded version of it.

The only thing on that label that I believe is that it will stabilize the fuel and I use SeaFoam for that.

I personally believe that Royal Purple is an over hyped and over priced brand.

Fuel additive has nothing to do with OCIs.

If you want confidence in your OCI choice, a sample to Blackstone Labs is the way to get it. However, you need to send in your oil of choice at drain time. If you're thinking of changing to Mobil 1 (a great idea) don't bother sending a RP sample. Wait and send an M1 sample at oh, 7.5k. They'll tell you how much life it had left.

Boutique oils have unusual additive packages and claims. I've not seen any worth the premium paid.

Truth be told, conventional SN grade oils OTC are excellent quality nowadays, equal to or maybe better than the syns of 15 years ago.

I feel like people are talking about 2 different and unrelated things as if they were being used the same. Oil treatment is imo unneeded and potentially harmful. Regular oil changes are all that's needed. Fuel treatment can definitely help, and most of the big name treatments are equally fine. The ones I've read the most satisfied with are techron, redline, the royal purple op has, and gum out complete engine.

Marvels mystery oil has been around longer than you.Lucas is a oil sbalizer to help extend oil life and protect engine parts, different, tranny, transfer case etc..and Lucas fuel treatment helps your fuel system.People race with this stuff. It helps look it up.

    Bone Stock.Why mess with perfection?Except...
When you use a fuel treatment or an oil treatment, how do you know, or how can you tell, it has done what it is advertised to do?

I use mobile 1 full synthetic extended performance with mobile 1 filter. currently there is a mobile 1 rebate for like $12 - $15 back. and the extended performance is on sale at walmart and Amazon for $25. I bought 2 5q gallons with oil filter. after rebate, each oil change would cost like $20 to me.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
In the hotrod and performance circles, we refer to Royal Purple as nothing special but having the best marketing around.

If it's extra dirty you might feel and/or hear a difference. It might run smoother and idle better. Watch the video below your first post, pretty good.
