I have a 96 4x4 and I'm considering going from ifs to a solid axle and was wondering what people recommend and if the hubs will fit on the axle of an 85 solid axle.

Itll take alot of work to use an old yota axle, the diff is on the wrong side! I guess not a lot of work depending on your skill or the size of your wallet, but youll have to sawp your t case and all that goes along with that.

You could flip the axle, but the main problem is the WMS to WMS is rather skinny in the older trucks and unless you want to run spacers it might not be the best option.

You're current hubs will not fit on the 85 axle as I'm aware.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
How deep are your pockets because if you don't have the money to do it right just leave it IFS unless its a trailer queen beater.

Also a waggy 44 would be your cheapest option for axles if you decide to do it.
