not sure if I want to spend over $40k on a tacoma trd pro. I rather get the tundra try pro, there's still plenty of them out there... :D

So really...its an OR with a fox suspension...mechanically that's the "big" advantage it has...if you want to call it that.

Yeah, the 1" lift with the Fox 2.5's and TRD springs is the major mech difference. Sounds like a nice kit if 1" is all you need. I would also count the functional 1/4" thick aluminum front skid-plate too. A stretch might be to count the RIGID LED Fog lights (different color temp, extra lumens, coverage?). Otherwise it is all cosmetic upgrades/changes.

Trucks driving around a small valley like that remind me of a bunch of dogs in a fenced play area. Smelling butts and trotting around in circles.

Statistics say your retort is a good bet! Also I don't understand what you are implying. Nevermind though, this thread isn't about cali or your day in the mud.

Anyone know how much the Fox 2.5 kit will cost yet? Be a nice mild upgrade for a TRD OR.

Accessory skid plate, Firestone air bags to level the truck (raised rear 1/2"), future mods - Truxedo LO Pro QT, Katzkin leather seats (Ice grey factory clone), Michelin LTX M&S highway tires (275/70r16 or 265/75r16)
Well, I just joined. I've been sitting on the sidelines for about a year and reading everything. First of all, I with to thank each
and every person on this forum for the knowlege that they have. It has helped me greatly. My truck is a black 2015 TRD Pro
DCSB. I know that I'm a bit late on this thread but I wanted to go back a bit and talk about the tires on the 2017 TRD Pro if
that is OK with you folks. There is a lot there that hasn't been said. I noticed that the 2017 tires are Goodyear Adventure/kevlar
in 265/70r16. First, the T|X Baja and 2015 TRD Pro used load Range D tires. And the 2015 TRD Pro marketing video showed the truck going 60 mph over the desert washes / riverbeds / tough terrain of the SW. But notice that the 2017 Pro is using the
E-metric tires. Std load range. 4-ply rating. So look at the marketing video of the 2017. An Alaska back road covered with snow. Nowhere near as brutal as the 2015 model was depicted in. Any std load range tire in all terrain tread is quite capable
in the snow. Next, I copied from tire rack below. Notice there are two 265/70R16 tires. One is 42# with an 8.4" treadwidth and 12/32 tread depth. the other is 35# with an 8" treadwidth and unknown tread depth. My guess is that the 35# tire is for OEM mfgr so they can meet the EPA fuel economy stds. My BFG KOs weigh 49# each. Big difference in weight. Going from 49# tires to 35# would feel like going from 3.73 gears to 3.90s. My guess is that the 2017 Pro will be a normal production model
in the same way that the TRD Offroad is and the Frontier Pro4X is, so they had to reduce the weight of the tires. With that said,
the 2017 is not a real match for the Raptor or the Dodge Ram Rebel. Any really serious offroader will change the tires out for something more like the BFG KO2s. 2017 Raptor will have Load range E KO2s and the Dodge Ram Rebel has Toyo Open Country AT2s load range E. Yes, bot tires speced below are Goodyear Adventure / kevlar. Why would goodyear make 2 of the same size tires, one at 42# and one at 35# if the lighter one were not for OEM use. Any comments?

The Wranglers are going to be the same Passenger rated tire from the Off Road. That's P rated

I think it makes sense for the full sized to have E rated, but it might be a little overkill for a mid-sized truck. Regardless, I'm sure most people are going to change out the tires within the first year on the Pro.
