So, I'm trying to get a good grip on what, mechanically, is happening with the three different modes of traction control on my Sport model. I tried looking into the manual but it really doesn't provide much useful information.

    1) Normal Mode - Full traction control, throttle and braking are controlled when slip is detected
    2) Press button once quickly, Traction symbol off with "Auto LSD" light - I'm assuming this is now allowing for a little bit of slip, not limiting throttle but utilizing the limited slip diff?
    3) 3 sec button press, Traction symbol off with "TRAC OFF" light - I assume this has now totally disengaged any traction control features?

I haven't had a chance yet to really play around with it in the snow to test each mode, so I'm curious. Can anybody elaborate?

So under normal conditions you have normal traction control. This apply brakes to spinning wheels AND reduces engine power. If you enable auto LSD, it is essentially traction control to the rear wheels without reducing engine power. This simulates a mechanical Limited Slip Differential.

If you hold it down then all of it turns off and you have an open rear diff.

If you go into 4hi, it gives traction control to all four wheels without reducing engine power. when in 4lo all aids are off and full engine power so essentially open front and rear diffs.

VSC is Vehicle stability control. It uses the same hardware as traction control and ABS but its purpose is to pulse brakes of each individual wheel to keep you pointed in the right direction during a loss of control in the hopes to prevent a rollover. It's works really well for SUVs doing the standard slolum course with cones.. You can visually see less body roll with vsc on..
