If power is turned off, how would you get compressed hydrogen into your car. Keep some tanks in your shed/garage? Also, bulk production of hydrogen involves cracking petroleum/natural gas anyway, so not sure how that solves pollution issues? Like mentioned above about electricity, hydrogen is cleaner to the end user but that's about it.

Every single one. When my tank runs out, pull into any gas station I want (didn't have to plan my trip in a out of the way direction either) and 5 mins later I am back on the road no problem.
In you electric car you drive a ways out of your way to find that one magical charging station, then sit their for a few hours waiting. And just hope its not already taken when you get there, or you get a even longer wait.

I know what you mean. I guess people need to consider what " clean" actually means. My interpretation is any improvement on current pollution output. Others interpret it as zero pollution.

Oh, gotcha. I was thinking 800 consecutive miles before filling up. I see your point. Still, the majority of American commuters stay under 200 miles per day, so electric isnt a one stop shop, but still useful to most and relatively cleaner than current gassers.
