BMW gives you a nice little 5% discount for taking delivery in Europe too, which for an M3 can cover the cost of the trip. If you know all the "tricks", BMW leases can be very economical depending on incentives/residuals/etc. That said, I'm looking to go from BMW to a Taco, largely because of the insane 80% lease residual on the TRD OR 6MT.

well there are multiple issues with OP

one of them is not knowing that Toyota Motor Corp uses Jidoka not Kanban

    It's actually The Toyota Way

Its pretty cool that BMW does this. Old coworker did the same thing with her convertible during the world cup years ago.

Toyota should do the same thing with Tacomas. Fly in to Mexico for a few days and drive your Tacoma around with bullets whizzing by your head.

Happened to my boss when he went to buy a ford focus. They sold it to him, then sold it to someone else before he picked it up.

Given that Toyota doesn't directly control the trains or trucks that carry the vehicle inventory, can you seriously blame them for any delays in the transportation aspect in final delivery?

Yeah, I didn't think so either...

Enjoy the new truck - it's worth the wait.

Do you need to know, or care?
Mine was sitting in the Port lot and the dealer couldn't get it out for close to a week because the transport trucks were too busy.

No choice but to wait, I'm sure it's in the line up to leave.

Hudiburg Toyota Oklahoma City did this to me on a 2015 DCSB OR MT over the summer. Not going to get in to the details on this still pisses me off!

That was a day I'd wish to forget. It did take me another month and a half to get my truck but it did save me $5000.

But yet they won't check the trans fluid level, which has high odds of being around a qt. low. o_O

When I ordered my FJC, the only way I knew it was in was when the dealership listed it forsale on their web site. They claimed that they list all the vehicles they get in, even the ones that already have a substantial deposit on them because you ordered it from the manufacturer. When they got it in, the ordering process was already closed and you couldn't order anymore.

I can guarantee it would have been sold within 24 hours if I hadn't checked their site.

3 month wait for leaf spring kit, a truck takes that long to be manufatured.

Takes about 12-14 weeks to get a 4Runner from Japan ... yet another reason I went with a Tacoma.
