Usually we do not recommend them. If you're on a tight budget, then go for it. They are halogen projectors and are usually worse than stock that way. Throwing hids in them will increase your output a lot. Another thing is they are prone to having seal issues. Most reseal the outside.

If you're not on a tight budget, a proper retrofit in oem type housings is the best. If you can diy. If not, there's a few members on here that can build them for you. But are pricey.

Im only looking for a more aggresive look for my truck. And since you said hids will work, i will have them installed as well. Ive seen many trucks with the ones im looking at, they look great. Does anybody have a picture of their output on a truck?

I agree with toendanger, aftermarket headlights like the spec-D's you mentioned above are always terrible. Low quality, LED's/Halos are always dull and burn out quickly ect.
I always recommend retrofits, but they are expensive if you're on a tight budget. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, you could always just do a little bit of painting, get rid of some of the chrome. ( at least for the 12-15 models, im not familiar with how the 2005 headlights are set up). a little bit of paint can make a big difference

Retrofiting is installing HID projectors in your halogen headlight housings, and changing your system from a halogen setup over to an HID system. The picture i posted above is a stock halogen headlight, and the picture below is a retrofit i did with HID projectors.
HID bulbs are a lot brighter than halogen and come in different colors depending on the temperature of the bulb. You are able to have brighter headlights because there is a very defined light cut off that keeps light from blinding other drivers. Whereas the stock halogens just sort of throw light everywhere; Which is why if you see a vehicle behind you with horribly blinding headlights, its because they either shoved an HID bulb in it, or used brighter halogen bulbs, which are annoying and dangerous

The spec-D set you purchased should be an HID headlight, since it has projectors, but some are still use halogen bulbs. All depends on what specifically you got.
    Either way, HID's are amazing!
make sure you post some pics when you get them installed!
