Bilstein 5100 advice

Hey Tacoma-World!

I just bought a 2013 Toyota Tacoma SR5 and need some help with identifying if this truck has been lifted/leveled. I have been reading a whole bunch of these threads/forums so I understand the basics.

I believe what they did was add just Bilstein 5100's to both front and back to my truck. Most my friends told me the suspension has been upgraded but I personally want the truck to last a long time and hear "lifting or leveling" damages cv boots, uca, and ball joints and what not.

front: Bilstein 5100 series 24-186711 (set at 1.75 because i can see two rings below it.)

Is this suspension set up going to damage anything?

Wrangler 265/75/16
front axle to top of wheel base = 21.5"
rear axle to top of wheel base =21

canopy weight = A.R.E. most likely about 200-300 pounds?





Can anyone identify these wheels?




There is one more question I bought these 2014 TRD off road wheels with lugs at a junk yard for $200 since my mechanic friend told me it would be dumb to pass out on $50 a alloy wheel with practically brand new tires. Also the fact that i was a bit anal about leaving it "stock"?
If I were to switch above to these would i need to worry about alignment or adjusting shocks or damage to anything? I wanted to keep both sets and use one for summer another for winter.

 

It looks like that is the trd off road package. With upgraded tires. It only wears the cv axles when lifted over 3 inches. You will be fine.

 

you should be fine.
if you wish to have alignment checked then i would. but changing from summer to winter rims should not effect anything.

 

As far as the wheel just have them rebalanced.

 

Wow! never got replys this fast! This is the SR5 but the previous owner went all out and did everything listed above. I was just concerned about the "upgrades" if they were actually upgrades... So originally they have the steel wheels at 245/70/16 i believe. Wouldnt the off-road package have the 4600?

 

Mine vin runs as a sr5 trd off road. But i dont have blisten shocks that are supposed to come with it or the e locker. Yeah they come stock with the rims you got for $200 and 245 tires.

 

I do know when it comes with an actual trd off road package they had 265 tires as stock tire size. You domt have anythong to worry about though. Just check the alignment and have the tires balanced.

 

are you sure the sr5 comes with those alloy ones? i thought they come with steel ones.

Those alloys did come on both TRDOR, and SR5.

So can anyone direct me to an user or forum that has the same set up? or should i go back down to the bottom ring to be "stock".... Will it be stock?

 

Over in the suspension section there are tons of people running 5100's.

 

I plan on swapping my stock coils out for old man emu compnents. That section has really helped me.

 

So this is stock other than the shocks right?

 

Im pretty sure the shocks came stock on the truck like i said earlier. Toyota uses bilstens for their off road packages. I think they just added the wheels. But it could go either way.

 

Toyota does use Bilstein shocks, but 5100's are not stock.

 

You'll be good with the 5100s.

It's really subjective to your taste. Their construction isn't questionable if that's what you mean. They retail for about $120/wheel.
