How long did that take? Did you have to be careful of anything in particular?

it took about 2 hours for both sides you just have to watch overspray getting on anything and use caliper paint, you could take them all the way off but then you would have to bleed them, I just wanted to mask it up..

It's a piece of cake, just unbolt the calipers and pull the pads out and tape off the actual Pistons. Re grease the back of your pads with some copper grease where the Pistons contact when you reinstall them. Just be aware that you will have to touch them up over time even if you use caliper paint. Brake dust is seriously corrosive shit it even eats chrome and brake fluid wipes the paint off like it is water colors. I kept mine silver because I didn't want the ricer look...just wanted them to stay bright and clean looking a little easier...but you can see that they need to be resprayed after approx a year :

You should tape yours off VanHalen style red/white/black  I wonder if you could find copper or brass paint to match your wheels, that would be subtle but pretty cool IMO

Another good choice for color is 'rebuilders cast'. http://www.plastikote.com/products/Specialty/Rebuilders-Cast-Finish.html

It's high temp enough. Well, it was for my street/autox/HPDE car. You do not need expensive specialty brake caliper paint.

I prefer the clean/subtle look. Unless you have some spiffy big boy calipers, or ones with the marquee cast in the side. Otherwise, there's no reason to draw your eye to a slab of iron, at least IMHO. Add to that rear drums, and whataya gonna do with them? At least on 4 wheel disc vehicles you can paint all the calipers to match.

    jimdq4u,

there is one manufacture that i am aware of selling caliper covers. they'e called MGP. CARiD.com has them listed on their site. however you need 18 in wheels for them to fit properly according to the description.
