After wanting a truck for a bit and a Taco, I just parked one in the driveway. Now I will be paranoid about it getting lifted.

    Age: 50

    So, previous car history:
    1969 VW Campermobile
    1972? Audi 100 LS
    1980, 1986 323
    1995 Probe SE
    1999 4Runner Limited (work leased)
    2000 RAV-4 (work leased)
    1994 RX-7 (current)
    2000 RAV-4 (current)

    and now

2003 Tacoma PreRunner Quad Cab 2wd Auto L4

    http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...=false&filtersModified=true#listing=136190124

    I drove a 2007 TRD 6 speed 4WD on Tuesday,

    http://www.bayshorechryslerjeepdodg...-Baytown-ee8cbbbf0a0e0a6b6dc3cd8acbd020ab.htm

then decided I didnt want it and drove the 2003 yesterday and went with it.

And I had a shit eating grin on my face all the way home.

I went with the 03 because:

I was more comfortable with the size.
I was more comfortable with the reliability of that era.
    I didnt want/need 4WD.
I didnt like the mile long clutch on the 07.
    I didnt have to finance.

I would have preferred a stick, but I can deal with the auto, and figured the chance of seeing a stick popup were between slim and none, after looking listings of local Tacos and not seeing what I wanted in the 1st gens.

I would have preferred a V6, but that was a couple K more.

From what I see, this was basically a steal.

This truck was properly cared for, aside from seat wear the interior looks phenomenal. The underside is very clean, but then again, Houston truck.

I realized my error using the word lifted in reference to a truck but kept it out there.

    I meant stolen.

The truck does come with a factory alarm though. Would this also have an engine immobilizer included?

I am still debating mentally not getting the 07, since it was a stick but I am really enjoying this truck.

Got the engine immobilizer through the chipped key.
