I believe the rubbing issues were on the first few set.My set went in no problem, just waiting on simulator for o2.Not sure on the ones with air injection.Good luck.

The newer models with air injection are a nightmare.
when I put my AFE shorty's on,one of the air injection bolts torqued off in the block during removal.
It was a complete PITA putting drill bits in a dremel because there was no space for any conventional type of screw removal.
My original idea of grinding a slot and using a flat head to remove also failed.
Don't try and reuse air injection hardware.
Install could not have been done on the AFe's without quick paw racheting box wrenches.
I did it by myself and it took close to 10 hrs since I wanted to clean exhaust flange and wrap alternator wires in heat wrap

These headers are the most difficult set I've ever had to install. Don't want to these again.

Crap, I was planning on installing my headers tomorrow. I'm a bit freaked out now. Drilling and tapping aren't on my list of favorite things to do, especially in tight places.

Depends on what part of the country you are in whether or not stuff will likely break. If you are in the snow belt and your truck is over 3 years old youll probably snap a bolt or two. Its not terrible, but we had access to a milling machine and welder and the like, it was a full machine shop and we did need some of it to fix things and make some new parts.

Others have done it without problems so i dunno. I even had to bust out the torch to get the y pipe bolts off.

I'm four hours in working by myself and made two trips to the auto store for a torq socket set, copper manifold stuff, and pb blaster. So far I have the stock manifold out and getting ready to put the headers on. No problems what so ever! All the bolts/nuts came out real easy really.
I have to take a break and do some other stuff but will get back on it this evening.

We get a decent amount of salt in the winter typically but the last couple years have been so mild. Nothin like Maine of course. I'll take it!

Finished up this morning going back and checking everything. Took about 9 or 10 hours total by myself in my driveway. Installed the headers and the urd cai too. It all went a lot better than I expected. Fitting the headers up in their spot was quite a bit easier than I expected.
Went for a test drive and instant cel. I forgot to plug the maf sensor in lol!
Drives good and sounds good so far. Quite a sound difference for sure. I have oem y pipe and muffler.
I didnt get crazy yet because I'm bd tuned currently. Ucon soon!!!

you remove the steering shaft? i heard you can install them easier if you remove the front driveshaft and slide them by the steering shaft

I separated the steering shaft. Didnt have to do anything to the front driveshaft or lift the motor.

i was told that instead of taking the steering apart you could remove the driveshaft and slide them in
