The ColdFire product looks legit. They don't say what's in the agent, you have to contact them for MSDS sheet to know for sure.

I like their 1.5 gallon model for $130, but you must buy 32oz agent which brings cost to $146. Not too bad!

What's neat is you can buy the agent and refill at home. You simply add water, agent, and pressurize to 175 PSI.

    Thanks @GHOST SHIP :)

    You rock! Thanks man. :fistbump:

Components are trade secret. No components are believed to be hazardous,...

This product reminds me of another called Fire Gel. That product was the brainchild of a Palm Beach County firefighter, John Bartlett, who observed that disposable baby diapers didn’t burn in a trash fire. Apparently the liquid absorbent polymers found in diapers can soak up hundreds of times their weight in water creating a gel that provides thermal protection from fire for extended periods of time, even at 3500° Fahrenheit.

I took my family camping into a windstorm this last Saturday and Sunday. Extreme fun!

...Wind Advisory remains in effect until 3 am PST Monday

*winds...areas of southwest to west winds 25-35 mph with gusts to 55 mph. Isolated gusts to 70 mph. Strong wind gusts will be along the desert slopes and near the foothills.
*Location... near mountain ridgetops... along Desert Mountain slopes... into adjacent desert areas.

Dark skies, wind was blowing on arrival, about 60 minutes from home.

This jeep on 37's got in front of us on the trail while we stopped to play. Terrain got technical, I followed in much to their surprise. Tacoma on 33"!

It was tight and steep, with lots of embedded boulders, rock ledges, and tree branches.

I don't have too many wheeling shots as we were on a mission to get to our camping spot.

Check out this rock, I think it's decomposed monzonite.

For dinner, we packed some Mexican food from the local burrito shop.

Kids had fun bouldering. Even my 3.5 year did well climbing, much to my surprise. My 5.5 yo is a natural, climbs like a cat.

We settled down for the night in a nice patch of sandy grass behind a large outcrop of boulders. I wanted to have as much shelter from the wind as was possible. Setting up the tent it was fairly calm with only a mild constant breeze. As soon as the sunset though, the wind picked up!

We loved our quick overnight campsite. Such a beautiful place.

    DSC05086_0db3e19d8f67f7308aed73e94b8c96d53f982e05.jpg

What I liked about this windstorm was the air was not too cold. It was cool, but not cold. I was wearing only a long sleeve cotton shirt and some shorts. lol

In this handheld photo, wife and kids had cleaned up for the night and retreated into the tent, and wife began telling kids bedtime stories.

    DSC05083_abe10f686856d872f6fdd89066d39ad498e9b202.jpg

During the night the wind never let up. It only got stronger. Our tent shook furiously at times. It's important to have the tent staked out in order for it to maintain integrity. I put large rocks on all four corners to help the 12" tent stakes hold in the sand. In all the tent had 14 stakes holding it down.

    The stakes could not hold.

I ended up pounding them back in around 2 AM, which I didn't even mind. lol They more-or-less held until morning, and then they all let go around 6:30. At this time I was near the front of the tent, so my body couldn't act as an anchor, a very strong gust hit the back of the tent and the tent was turned over on its side with us in it. We were all awake and after the initial shock, we all busted out in laughter.

I exited the tent and surveyed the sky. Very fast low moving dark clouds. I could tell we would be in for some rain. We all quick packed and were out of there in about 45 minutes, our best time yet!

CROM laughs at your Four winds! :D
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs3w6M4rzCg

On the exit route, the trail is short but technical. I self spot myself in several places. And just as my luck would have it, when I didn't get out to spot, I busted my taillight out.

    DSC05092_694e9241a2dfc38665a0d74254920711156dc9e6.jpg

Came off a ledge and hit a rock. Chrome bumper got pushed into taillight and broke the plastic tabs off. I didn't have any tape handy so I disconnected it and tossed it in the back.

    DSC05095_5b33d6790023cb74e58f89d04b4e53116f0ffff7.jpg

Over the years, my truck has survived all kinds of nasty trails because I take my time and spot, and go slow.

Oh well! That's what I get for not getting out and surveying before proceeding. It was the last sketchy part of the trail too. :(

    DSC05096_8f632d4b961c64c40d60ba2bcf4c477b68ca5177.jpg

This was the boulder I came down on. lol
    DSC05097_508ad52d4ebfe2c0a7e22e1cd6010eb0a5b94134.jpg

We followed the trail back to the BLM trailhead where I put air back in the tires.

We drove about 15 minutes west to the Golden Acorn Casino where we had a hot pancake breakfast, eggs, sausage, OJ, coffee, etc.

Ironically enough, TW member @Pirhett was conducing a sale of suspension parts in the parking lot and recongized my truck. He sent me a PM which I happened to get and reply. We caravaned the 45 min back to San Diego in bad weather.

    Would absolutely love one.

Here is my fix until I buy replacement tail. Clear packing tape.

Now that you mention it, I suppose it might. :) I guess I'll call it a science experiment for good measure. :)
