Wait would removing that rubber piece just make it metal to metal contact making you ground through the bracket anyways?

Course it's early and I haven't had my coffee yet so probably not thinking right :)

I think he's talking about the tune-able tip on the firestick. There is a rubber O-ring on the bottom.

A little writeup on my new mobile onboard air.

Disadvantage... Takes up some room in the bed.
Advantages... Mobile. Better protection from mud and debris than in the bedside. Better protection from heat than the engine compartment. Also doubles as tool and recovery gear storage.

Here's the compressor I used. It is thermally protected, 30 amp, comes with alligator clips. The bag is cheap, the hose is junk, but the compressor is good. I disassembled it, checked the lube, removed the internal relay (not 100% necessary) and removed the power cable with the alligator clips. Then I added a toggle switch and pressure switch, which brings the compressor down to a max psi of ~95psi (It's simply not accurate. It doesn't need to be to air up tires and run small air tools.) I reused the alligator clips so that the compressor can still be clipped directly to a battery if it is used away from the bed of my truck. The outlet I used is a different amperage 240v plug, so having a different blade orientation cannot be confused with a standard 110v plug. Added a fuse block at the battery, ran wire to the right rear storage, and now just have a short cable inside that compartment.

The hose is just spliced together with tees terminating in this really cool air chuck. I added an extra foot to the "wheelbase" and width of the hose. Should have added two.

The chucks are all mated directly to a . This is to air down. Simply clip the chuck on and walk away. The two pen style pressure gauges (0-20psi and 10-50psi) have had their heads ground down so they can be pressed on over the fitting to take the pressure without removing the chuck from the valve stem.

    2016-03-08%2012.59.11_zpscuamvlwf_03eed27b59d6d5aa5f39b52c03d6703000c32a04.jpg

The end result is that now I can air down all 4 tires at once, and air all 4 back up at once. Timed the entire process (35psi, down to 7 and back up) at 4:30 down and 12:48 back up.

Hey fellas, wanted to see what was available on here first before i hit the CG page, i recently had a blowout on the original tires. My main problem is not only do i need a new set, but im halfway saved up for some billie 6112 struts and rear shocks. I want to put 33's on my truck but obviously cant right now. Wanted to reach out to the TW to see if you local boys had a set of some all terrains or what not laying around for 17s with decent tread that i can take off your hands. Let me know! Anything helps to buy me time for my upcoming lift. Thanks fellas!

I'm currently trying to wire the switch for my new lights... While using the dimmer circuit in the dash lights. Also, it's a friggin pain figuring out how to get the dash off.
