Taking my truck to the dealer Friday because of very noticeable squeak somewhere in suspension. I have not seen other posts on this for the 3rd generation Tacos but could have missed them. Anyone else have this issue?

When it was cold and dry, 0 celcious to -5 celcious or more, I had a terrible squeaking noise near my front passenger side wheel well area. Could not pin point it exactly and neither could the dealership. To replicate the noise, I would just step on the front end of the passenger side step bar with one foot and rock the truck up and down. No idea what the cause and cant replicate it now due to warmer temperatures. Any ideas?

My rear suspension squeaks like crazy. The dealership claimed they couldn't reproduce it, freaking morons. They lubed "eveything" which fixed it for literally 5 minutes. I need to take it back in. Just getting in and out of the truck makes it squeak.

Do you need to know, or care?
There's another one on this thread.

What are you at the dealership for?

Update. I took it to the dealer and they claimed that the hood prop was not seated in the clip and that was causing the hideous sqeak. Of course, I did not buy it for two reasons: 1. I have and still own multiple toyota vehicles and always known to gently yet firmly replace the hood prop in the clip, I can even be compulsive at times. 2. I had the hood open several times trying to diagnose the issue, so I certainly would not have mispositioned it each time. Mysteriously, the noise did go away after taking to the dealership;otherwise, I would not have left without resolution.
Today, the noise came back so I opened the hood for further investigation and noticed several screws that connect the grill to the chassis were only hand tight. I gave them each a little torque and closed the hood. Noise gone for now and hopefully for good.

The 2nd gens are notorious for having the leaf spring pads squeak. I beleive they are the same leafs. I do not have squeak on suspension but my box bushings seem to be squeaking.

I don't think so in this case. Truck hasn't even been off road yet. I have heard and read about the leaf spring issue; however, noise on mine was without a doubt coming from the front of the vehicle. Tightening the grill seemed to stop it. I will report any new findings if the noise comes back.

I've also just started to notice what seems to be a left-rear leaf squeak as I get out of the truck (can't hear it while driving, but presumably still there). I'm at 650km on the truck, seems a little ridiculous. Took it on some very very light offroading last weekend and got a little wet and muddy. Anybody have a solid at-home fix before I spend time going to a dealer?

Was thinking U-bolt torque and fluid film?

Yes passenger side leaf spring squeaks. When driving and if I push down on the bedside or rear bumper and when I get out of the truck.

U can put some grease on the pads between the leafs, use a good flat screwdriver to seperate slightly. Fluid film should work as well.

I've posted this already on the 3rd gen issues thread - my passenger rear leaf spring was squeaking bad just by pushing up and down on the bed or anytime anyone would get in or out of the vehicle. My dealer had me schedule a time to bring it in a few weeks later and Toyota flew in engineers from California and Japan (he said anyway) to look at it and make sure it wasn't a big issue. Ultimately they replaced the leaf spring and said they thought it might have been the pads but he wasn't real sure...
