    Body lift is gonna show A lot of frame and looks terrible. You'll have to extend all those things mentioned above...bumpers, gas filler, etc. if you were to do it is only consider a 1"

    Came over here as a forum n00b on my first day after a helpful suggestion over at Wheels & Tires. This is a 5-lug 2008 Tacoma Access Cab 2.7. Right now these are touring wheels(?) and they are a bit old.
    My use: I will be driving in snow, and on dirt roads for part of the year. Mostly Atlantic Canada. Mostly maintained, probably unplowed. I don't think these wheels (rims, tires) are designed for this.

    Friends, help me with some advice on what tires to purchase, assuming I'm not buying dedicated snow tires. I think what I need is tires with more bite, but reasonable all around performance. Cosmetically the rims also bug me, but thats just vanity. Suggestions there welcome too.

    Hey, nuttyprofessor! My recommendation on tires are the BFG KO series or Duratracs. I have the BFG KO's and I have had zero issues with snow and dirt roads. I've had some trouble with mud, but that's because we all have 2WD :)

    HackD can give you some tips. He helped me a lot on my truck and he's from Canada like yourself :)

    I did mine a few months ago. It should be #1 mod to do first, if your truck wasn't equipped OEM to begin with, with it.. Makes winter/rain season all that much less annoying!

    How easy is it to install exactly? I only have two speeds: fast and very fast

    It might just take you longer to unlock the drivers side door, than to install it. Literally plug-in and play, replacing the old stalk. 1 philips head screw-driver, 2 screws holding the shroud on the steering column, remove and replace, done.

    @SleazyPetey
    Getting the cover off was the toughest part for me.
    This helped me with the switch install.
