I want to buy a bottle jack or some similar design jack that will fit in the location where the original jack is stored. I do not have a bed tool box. Any suggestions?

Im looking at doing the same. I need to take some measurements and see if I can find one that will reach my lifted truck.

Check out EBay. Take some measurements of the storage box and see what they have. I was on there the other day and found some longer than normal bottle jacks. Was thinking about getting one myself. I'm just too lazy to look them up now.

OK, I looked it up. It's listed as '4 ton capacity flat bottom heavy duty long stroke bottle Jack SUN5041B.' Says it is 24.4" long when lowered and 43.9" high at full stroke. $75-100 depending on who you buy from.

Nice find. Has anyone actually used any of this stuff though?

I think the 3" extension is perfect. The description says it fits 1.25" ram mounts, and mine is measuring @ ~1.5".

Before buying online and potentially avoiding the obvious pitfalls of online shopping, I'd just pull out the original jack and bring it to some local auto parts stores and see what they have in stock. Can't beat in person side by side comparison.

I even recall seeing bottle jacks in the small automotive section of Lowe's....another option. Not sure about HD.

If you store a bottle jack on it's side, it may leak oil. Just sayin.

My bottle jack is a 4 ton one that fits perfectly in the storage unit behind the back seat, on the passenger side. You need to store most jacks like that upright. My jack was the first item I bought for the truck when I got it. The factory jack is pretty marginal. I wouldn't depend on a piece of equipment like that in an emergency.

I have their kit, and indeed it does not fit the ram mount on the factory bottle jack :(

I actually like screw jacks like the factory one because they can't blow a seal and stop working, they can't creep down while you are working and they can't ooze oil all over the inside of your truck. I wish the Safe Jacks stuff fit the factory jack.

That sucks. It's a great solution.

Maybe I'll contact them to see if they can make something that fits our jacks.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Oh nice, do you happen to know the diameter of the ram? I have accessories for bottle jacks but they only fit rams with a 1.25" diameter.
