Ok so I am about to order some HIDs for my truck and I was wondering what exactly is the bulb size that I need. I have H4 Sylvania bulbs right now, but on headlight websites they say that it is 9003. Any help? 2002 Prerunner Sr5

Alright thanks man, I was asking because H4 and 9003 were two different bulb choices.

They may be the same sizes, but may be different watts. Stick with H4.

Cool. Post some pictures once you get them. Are the true hid with balasts or just bulbs?

I see, well alot of cars over here have purple and green HIDs and pass by cops with no problem. I guess cops down here worry more about the drug deals rather than car lighting.

Once you get into 10000k and above the output often isn't any better and in some cases worse than stock. But if that's the color you want go for it, as long as I don't have to drive near you lol. Personally I think the really blue/purplish HID's cheapen the look of the vehicle and come off as very ricerish. Not to mention they're VERY fatiguing on your eyes too after you're driving awhile at night. However, my opinion is biased I go for function over form. I had 5000k HID's and loved them and would never go over 6000k. Good luck with them.

Yes, 8000K is very blue on 35 w. 8000K on 55 w is like 6000k on 35 w. I used to have 8000K and it would be very hard to see in the rain.

Scosh, what makes it a true HID kit?

Assume he was answering that. But if they were just bulbs they wouldn't be HID's even though alot of those cheapo bulbs incorrectly label their product as HID's.
