Has anyone heard how the internals of the new engine are made? Forged, Cast, ect...

The 3.4 and 4.0 were obviously built to handle boost but with the discontinuation of the factory supercharger program I wonder how the 3.5 will hold up.

I know Toyota said it didn’t make fiscal sense to keep producing superchargers but I wonder if another reason was so they wouldn’t have to spend more money to build an engine that could handle being boosted.

I could be way off base, just a thought…

As far as I know, it will be damn near impossible to boost an Atkinson cycle engine. Maybe a supercharger company can come up with a complete kit and engine reprogram, but I think you will have a hard time just bolting something on like a traditional engine.
