Bought the Tacoma ive always wanted.

My family always owned Toyota trucks and my first car was a Corrolla GTS. In high school I loved the look of 1st Gen Tacomas. Decided it was finally time to buy a truck and found a rust free 2001 SR5 4wd and I love it. Only Mods so far are sleeping platform in the bed but am planning more. So far its taken me to the mountains and deserts of California and Oregon!

 

Nice! I just joined recently myself after finding my first gen, a 2004 TRD. Got really lucky and found one at a Toyota dealer with only 26k miles on it, practically new.

Still haven't gotten a chance to test her out yet on any SoCal trails, but I'm hoping to this weekend. What was the sleeping platform you got for the bed? I'm interested in something like that as well, I need to get a top for it first though.

My platform is a 1x10 at the front of the bed, Two 1x10s running the length of the bed, and sheet of plywood on top. The sides of the platform fold up for storage access, and the center section holds 4 rubbermaid containers. The containers are rigged to slide out with a piece of paracord led around the deepest container. It works well.
