My experience with Toyota dealerships have been less than stellar (both Tundra and Tacoma) until last Monday (3/7). My Tacoma was bought from a dealership in Georgia and transferred to a good friend of mine who is an auto broker and then to me. I have experienced none of the problems listed by members on the Forum with the exception of the window molding on the rear door of the drivers side not fitting tight against the door frame. I took it to a large dealership in Montgomery, Alabama (near where I live) and was told by a female tech/service-writer that it was "normal" and that Toyota would not do anything about it. A couple of weeks later I was traveling south of where I live and (just for the hell of it) stopped by the Toyota dealership in Enterprise, AL to see what they would tell me. The service writer said he had not seen that before but agreed with me that it was not normal. He then without question called a tech over to ask exactly what part he should order which they did immediately. The tech (a VERY knowledgeable young man) spent another 20 minutes with me asking me how I like the Tacoma and giving me some additional tips on the engine/transmission as well as general operation. They took pictures of the defective molding to send to Toyota and told me they would call me when the part came in to set up an appointment to replace it. They never asked me where I bought the Tacoma. Overall, great people and very customer oriented.

Possible to have a forum about dealership experiences? Some dealers must be better than others and I imagine some dealers scan this website- hence it is in their best interest to keep us happy to get more business- I just purchased a new truck and the dealership had a lot of positive reviews on Edmunds.com- it seemed that mentioning this and requesting one of the salespeople who had good reviews got their attention during the purchase process- for what its worth.....
