So when you regear...your going to swap diffs..and axles..just for an air locker..

So what your saying is air lockers are better? Haha

Seems excessive though. You can't put an air locker in your current axle or diff.

 

What are you regearing to Ben, seems like a lot of extra effort for your tire size and current axle situation.

 

Exactly! The elocker has worked well enough for whats done and its a simple bolt-on replacement

I guess I understand the want to regear, I have no hope of 35s with my current 3.58s but his is about right for the tire size, 4.10s if I'm not wrong.

 

I think his plan is to stay with his current sized tires? Which im sure itd benefit but idk that it would be very drastic

 

i think he wants to go to 33s next though.

so 4.56 would be ideal.

 

That would at least make sense, but if even has a shred of thought about going bigger he should just jump up to 4.88s with how expensive it is.

 

Can the RD132 be used in our 8.0" diffs?

 

According to the info on ecgs it should. It says front or rear.

Although i still think replacing the solenoid is the easier option.

 

4.88s with a manual will be pretty over geared. Not quite like 5.29s and 35s but close. 4.56 is slight over gear

No. The arb air locker can not be used in your diff.

The 8.4" has two more ring gear bolts. The pattern won't line up.

Thanks for clarifying. ECGS is not clear on their product page which 8" diffs. Your saying it is only the pre-Tacoma 8"ers.

Find a new elocker diff for cheap. Hell there's one in Powell. Though Idk how much.

Or swap a totally different axle hahaha overkill for you though.

There's an 8.4 axle and diff in Powell too. Actually. I'll have a housing soon. No diff though.

 

or trade it in on the crew max long bed tundra with the blower at parker. Probably the most costeffective.

armor and lift and super chargered 5.7l v8 and some will......it will make it any where. He could also just put the BRZ in the back

 

Find an elocker diff at a junk yard. It'll be miles cheaper then swapping axles and all. And cheaper then a brand new actuator.

 

Surf the webs then. They pop up.

But as usual. No matter what any of us say. You've already made up your mind. I bet the mechanical thing is being shipped tomorrow.

 

Call Yoda Jim in Denver. He probably has a shed full of them. My e-locker works well and I wouldn't hesitate to fix it if it broke. Not enough benefit to justify any replacement.
