    Will do!

And those look great dude

I love the look of the muted gold hardware with the satin finish. Also a big fan of open-back tuners (no clue why lol) Are those locking tuners?

Thanks man! I agree, they nailed it with the hardware and finish choices. This satin neck feels like butter. Yeah, they started doing the open back tuners on the Core, Artist and PS lines. still closed back for SE and S2. as far as locking tuners, they are in the traditional PRS sense where they lock the string in to the peg, but not the locking style that actually lock the tuning key. They just changed the design a couple times since the original wing locks they used to use. now it's just a screw into the top of the post that holds the string.

Gotcha.. didn't know they were done with the wing nut kind. I don't keep up with the electric stuff as much as I'd like to. haha still look pretty cool though. I'm a big fan of satin necks too. one of the main reasons I was looking at Taylor's for a while before buying my second Eastman lol

My SE has the closed-back Gotoh's with the PRS logo stamped on them, and both Eastman's have the open back 12:1 Gotoh's. Not bad but nothing special.. Thinking about swapping out the ones on the Eastman's for some 14:1 or 15:1 open back Waverly's or Grovers. I like the Waverly butterbeans but I really like open back design.

nice! yeah, I'm in the same boat as you but with acoustics. I've always loved Taylors though and my buddy just got one recently. sounds amazing! Makes me want to trade in my Guild and Washburn acoustics and get a Taylor. Also I need an acoustic with a cutaway.

Unfortunately, I have no idea. but I'll try to remember to check tonight and let you know. It's not one of their better ones. I believe it's just a step above an entry-level model. I think I looked it up once and it sold new for around $400. I got it when I worked at a headshop. some customer wanted to trade it for a bong and I didn't have an acoustic at the time so I went for it. It's served its purpose but it's definitely not the greatest sounding or playing acoustic.

If you can find them locally, check out some eastmans. They're a fraction of the cost of a Taylor or Martin but can definitely hold their own. They get a lot of praise on the Internet (places like the gear page, acoustic guitar forum, and unofficial Martin guitar forum). I own two and and always amazed at how good they sound. When I bought my OM a few years back the Taylor that I found that it best rivaled was almost $3k and I bought the Eastman for $700 on sale.

damn that's good to know. I'll definitely check them out. I've recently gotten a wild hair to buy a new acoustic after my singer got a new Taylor for his bday. Thanks for the tip! :)

No problem. You may not like them, but I love them and haven't found many people who don't. Especially for the price

No bites on the PRS yet :(

I have played a few eastmans and they are always solid guitars. They play well with a good set up and sounds good. I went with a Taylor Big Baby to compliment my selections and couldn't be happier. Spent around $390 for it form my local Guitar Center (bought the display model) and it is extremely easy to play and has a great sound to it. It is a 15/16 scale dreadnaught so it is great for a couch player and still has a fullness/roundness to the sound.

Jealous of the PRS though! I have never owned an electric (been playing for about 16 years now) and I always tell myself that when I win the lottery, I am buying a vintage Gibson acoustic, and then a nice 50s strat. I know that I would never plug it in though - almost too lazy and would rather just grab one of my acoustics off the wall and sit on the couch for an hour or so. But who knows.... Glad to see there a few guitars players on this board.

You guys working on any new material or learning any songs?

    I love mine.

Taylor's are awesome guitars and have amazing build quality, but at my price point the eastmans were a much better bang for my buck.

Putting this up for sale soon if anyone is interested. I've had it for a year (almost) and I have literally played it 6 times. Amazing guitar, but I've been playing less guitar lately and am looking to buy a new dobro this fall. Due to the fact that it's only a year old and is in better condition than most guitars I see in stores since it's only been played a handful of times, I'm hoping to get about $900 (obo) for it with the hard shell case. I paid just under $1200 new for both.

I've still got that PRS SE for sale too... :spy:

Haha but if you're interested let me know and shoot me an offer. I'm not overly firm on the price. Would like to stay in the ballpark though because it's essentially brand new. Only VERY minor blemish is a tiny scuff in the finish on the bottom binding of the lower bout.

There is no way I could afford that guitar without selling a few to many, but know that I am super jealous and trying to figure out a way to make that work.

It's still for sale if anyone is interested. Had one guy agree to 2,600 and then come in and try to talk me down to 1,000 (in payments). I thought, man, this guy doesn't really know how this works. Haha
