2100 miles and this just started. Happened once this morning during a short drive and about 5 times over a 30 minute drive. Drove another 10 minutes and it didn't happen.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

A lot of us do. There has been multiple threads about this. No has had a permanent fix to this. I fought to have the dealer replace it with a brand new head unit but it does the exact same thing. Toyota claims that we have to wait for a software update to fix this. I didn't even bother to contact them again after.

I can tell you 2 things:

    1. It only happens to me in 2 areas in the middle of a 2 hour drive going back to San Diego. The area is a little remote, probably picks up a weird signal or is picks up an interference or blockage from the big rocks around the freeway I'm passing through. It never happens on when I am going the opposite way. I have eliminated factors such as: length of drive, time of day you are driving and temperature. I can pin point exactly which area on my way back it will happen.

    2. To avoid this, I found out that if I set my navigation to any destination in San Diego, it will never reboot. So if it happens regularly, you have to set a destination and put the Navigation in use. Some people have had this issue and it never came back again because they were on a road trip and never passed by that area again. I have videos of it shutting off and not shutting off when using navigation. I just wanted to prove that it was the area and that my temporary solution works.

    Thanks.

Mine just started today and happened in areas where I've been countless times before without issues, so I'm not sure thats the problem, but I'll keep an eye on it.

It was raining the whole time it was rebooting. It's probably the longest I've driven in steady rain since I've owned the truck. Definitely not a thunderstorm and definitely not torrential rain, but steady

I don't have JBL but it's raining here today and rebooted 8 times in 20 miles. Have to see if it does it tomorrow

Did it on my 2015 after I got past 5k miles. Within the next 5k, it probably rebooted about 10-15 times

I don't have any issues with mine, yet, (knock on wood).
Moreover, I don't have the JBL or nav built in, just scout which I don't use as google on my Iphone works just great.
But if I did, I would start by deleting my phone on the entune and all related data. I'd pull out my usb drive and drive it to see.
If it solves the concern, I'd pair the phone only at first no msgs or songs. If all works well I'd stream line my phone of obsolete data (old msgs, contacts, etc.
It sounds like a dealer solution is unavailable for now, so good luck and keep us posted if anything changes to help others.

My 4runner entune does this with my wife's phone. She deletes some stuff from her phone such as old text messages and no more issues. I guess this is only relevant to those who have their devices sync'd up to the entune during the time when it reboots.
