What should I do with my dealer?

So when I discovered that Toyota factory did not paint my bumper properly with primer color exposed on major part of the bumper, my dealer replaced the entire bumper from another car in stock.

Then I discovered that they had X-Acto knifed the car paintwork all around the headlight when they were installing clear bra. They did the touch-up paint on the part there was knife damage. Asking for your opinion whether they did a good job or not. Below are pictures before and after. What else should I do?

Tell them to fix it and refund your money. Make a scene man.

That looks like shit. Sorry, but your dealer is an idiot.

The bumper fix has been through three weeks of going back and forth with the dealer and Toyota case manager. I'm getting way too tired to deal with all this crap!

Already took delivery since last month and all their mistakes were starting to show a week after when the clear bra adhesive cured

How high up the chain at the dealership have you been working with? Seems like that stuff can be fixed but they need to conceed to doing it, and it's going to be hard to ask another dealer to do it.

It went to the sales manager. At first the dealer said it will look bad if the scuff is to be touched up and suggest for the clear bra to be wrapped over the knife cut. I told them to do the best to touch up and you can see their result on the picture. I can see some trace of touch up in some angle. I will talk to them tomorrow and see what they want to say.

The bumper paint defect has been through that office, you can see another picture here. They replaced the entire front bumper with another TRD Quicksand in stock.

While I agree the dealer (or vendor) who did the bra is a klutz, I do have to ask another question.

Is the goal to be a pavement queen that is Off Road in name only, or actually get it out in the woods and bang it around?

The answer might influence how upset you should, or shouldn't, be over the work.

I do use my car off road, mainly in snowy area. The problem is, I dropped $35k on a new car in cash, with paint "protection" film, not a defective car with paint "destruction" film. If I leave that cut exposed, salt will rust it out, so that should be corrected!

I agree... Maybe don't make a scene but certainly stand your ground right? Just pretty frustrated when you pay so much for something on top of a very expensive truck to get it hacked up like that.

I'm sure the dealer wants you to think that they 'removed' a bumper from a car in stock to swap with you. They probably just had it painted since you said it took them a few weeks. Also, that paint defect is less than 2 inches in length. I would not have had the bumper repainted for that.

As for the knife cuts in the paint. that really sucks, only thing they can do now is take off the clear bra, and repaint the whole bumper again.

They did replace the whole bumper because I witnessed what they did and the bumper with defective paint is put on the unsold car now on the lot. I will talk to sales manager tomorrow about what else should be done to that knifed and now-touched-up fender.

Thing is, even I took my car off road, I still take good care of my stuffs, that's why my FJ Cruiser that I traded in for this fetched top dollar, depreciating only 6% in 4.5 years.

Only person that can help you is the dealer you went to. Go do something about it, Tacomaworld can't help

That's why I'm asking, what is the fair compensation they should give, so I will negotiate with them tomorrow. Some xx dollars or something else? I don't care about the bumper paint defect from factory now since it's been replaced by a brand new bumper, but this knife cut.
