I live in Austin, Texas and recently bought my first Tacoma. Really wanted the access cab, but my dog preferred the roomy back seat of the double cab. It's a 4x2 SR5 package.

Love it so far but just finally realized (after 3 months) that the headrest is wrecking havoc on my neck and shoulders due to the forward tilt of it. Anybody have any ideas on a fix for this? Adjusting the height doesn't seem to help. I really need to be able to adjust the tilt angle.

Looking forward to learning a lot in this forum!

Adjust the seat back so that you are not using the headrest as part of your seating position? My head doesn't touch mine, and I don't want it to. It's not really meant to lean on as much as to protect during impact.

I moved the rear seat headrest to the front seat. The rear headrest is much flatter. Not sure if this will work on the '16, but it might be something to look into.

    Can you mount it backwards?

I'm not really sure how to reply to each message, as i am attempting to learn the navigation for this site. But I did try adjusting the angle of the seat back and that didn't work for me. It was very comfortable when i removed the headrest, but i'm not sure comfort is worth the lack of safety. (Tho it's pretty close at this point!) I will definitely try swapping out the headrest with the one from the rear seat. Thanks for that suggestion!

Nope. I tried that and the headrest will not slide into place.

This doesn't work on the '16, because the rear headrest posts are wider than the front ones.:(
