Radio question

I have the 2016 TRD OR. The radio appears to have a DVR type ability to back up and listen to a music already played (30 sec earlier, selectable). Then you can go "live". When I change channels, about 8 secs later there is a brief (1/10 sec) pause as if it is resetting the reference for playback. Only does it on 1 channel so far. Anyone experienced this. I am thinking it is a broadcast specific thing. I imagine I will see it on another channel? No big deal but is repeatable.

 

I have seen that feature on mine, but haven't tried it out yet. I suspect that it is only available for channels broadcasting in HD. On the primary channels, most still broadcast in HD and analog, so while the HD stream is loading up, the radio plays the analog version. But for secondary HD only stations, there is usually a second or two delay while the signal loads.

 

its radio Cache. it only happens i believe on HDD transmitted stations and can Cache about 1 minute worth.

 

Cache works on all AM/FM stations and automatically records the last 20 minutes, it will reset to zero when you change stations. Just hit the pause button on the audio screen and you can reverse from there.
