In reality I use that because I mainly just torque lug nuts and that's about it. If I'm +/- 5 Ft.lbs. I don't really care. For 3/8 I have a split beam type made by craftsman I bought a year ago and have yet to use.

    A few.
Snap On 1/2" drive, gift from dad. (After a some what costly mistake)
Kobalt 3/8" drive, for smaller stuff. It usually fits where the Snap On wont.
Husky 1/4" drive, in/lb for really small stuff. (Mtn. Bike and such)
All of the above are click type torque wrenches due to personal preference.

How;s the Husky? Decently accurate? Looking for a 1/4 inch TW that does inch pounds accurately.

It's not bad, I don't hate it. However if I were to do it again I'd go with a Park Tool (cycling tool company), Snap On, or a Mac. Most likely the Park Tool for quality vs cost.

Craftsman for both foot pound an inch pound wrenches. I don't live too far from Sears and they work just fine. Just remember to turn them back to the lightest setting before putting them away.

Yes I always zero mine when I'm finished using them, and store them in the plastic box that they came with. Also if they get dropped or you don't believe that they are accurate you can send them back to the manufacturer for recalibration. On my projects with the zip line building company I'd send them back annually, but my guys are kinda rough on tools and we frequently carry them around the woods in a haul bag. I learned real quickly not to use my good tools at work, let alone lend out any that I didn't want broken. Had a guy break a sledgehammer one time, not the handle either the head! How in the hell do you break a sledgehammer head.

Isn't this ( lightest setting) a personal preference thing and not backed up by data?

It keeps keeps the tension off of the spring when storing to maintain accuracy.
