Popped off mud flap, stripped screw hole

I backed into a snowbank and the front mudflap popped off. Well I actually like mud flaps and went to remount then. I found that the 3 screw holes are stripped to where they will barely hold the screw. (btw, new plastic "rivets")

What have you done to repair the screw holes? If it were wood I would stick in a chopstick and break off the excess but this doesn't work so well in plastic.

Get a bigger screw, it's just plastic that they are screwed into from what I remember. Both my tacomas had them removed the first day

 

I did the same several times and bought cheap aftermarket mudflaps. Now the screws stay put and the flap tears. Then I put on a new one. If I'm going wheeling, I take the 5 minutes to remove them first.
