LOL, nice. That's the Demo jet from VFA-106. They keep it clean for airshows.

Reminded me of this, the Thursday Night "Tug" Races at Reno. After hours in the pits, it basically consisted of anything with an internal combustion engine, heavy drinking, cheating, and mayhem. I forget which year we had to stop doing it. This is the only record I have ever been able to find of it.

Nope that sound was the sound of the EA-6B Prowler! Rarely see them but they are there. Not one strike goes out from the carrier without one!

Wednesday nights at the Depot Casino (I think that's what it was called), all the "big girls" came to the upstairs dance club to hook up with drunken sailors..... Pigs in space.

    Oh, I totally understand that.
I was wrenching as a "AD" (Aviation Machinist Mate) Engines, Fuel systems and oil lubrication systems)) in the Navy from Jan 89 - Dec 91, then A&P school at South Seattle Community college and worked at BF Goodrich at Pane Field in Everett doing airframe repair on the FedEx 727 line. Then in Nov 96, went back in the Navy (same rate/job and rank when I left) and just got out Sep 11, 2015. I am now a Quality Control Tech for the BOS contractor on bas at NAS Whidbey Island that has the contractor for building maintenance.

I got to work on some really cool civilian aircraft and military aircraft over the years. Love turbine and reciprocating engines!

What kind of wrenching are you doing?

"How to surrender really, really fast."

I spent 5 months with the French in Bosnia. Our French TACP liaison (Alpha pilot) apologized repeatedly for his countrymen. He'd spent three years at Cannon AFB NM before returning to France, and said that "as soon as I got home, I suddenly realized we are all dicks."

    He was right.

My least favorite part of my job… updating the operating manual in all of the airplanes. Especially when it's gusting to 35 knots and raining.

This is my airport car. I leave my truck at home when I go to work.
