That's some bad ass mud! If you left it on longer it might have eaten thru the hood.

Also, if it is a puddle other trucks have been splashing in, you have to remember 1/2 of them are probably POS's leaking brake fluid, diff fluid, trans fluid, etc. That would stay suspended in the water and when you go splashing through, there you go....

Stay out of the mud/keep truck in mall parking lot if you are truly so worried about the paint. Lots of the suggestions suggested in the hands of an amateur (you sound like one...lol) are going to do more harm than good. You will more than likely screw the paint up WAY worse using a "machine" LOL.

Mud etches paint. After off-roading, you need to give the truck a good spray down. Best to give it a hand wash before the end of that day too. Invest in a dual action polisher if you want to keep the paint in good condition. Check out some sites like chemicalguys.com and Autogeek.net

the clay bar didn't do anything to it!! i got the Mothers claybar/detailer pack... If anyone has any suggestions on my other thread about my truck whining, please give some suggestions on what you think.
i hit a large pot hole going forty on gravel in four wheel drive, i crossed a dried creek bed and flexed good, i pulled a dead tree 100 ft in reverse with a chain, and turned around in the woods via backing up a incline. on my drive home i noticed my truck whines when its idling, and in gear accelerating.

Take the serpentine belt off and spin each pulley by hand to see if any feel funny or make any noise.
