Get a 2 stage proximity sensor from DEI. Detects movement around your vehicle. Will give warning if you get to close or trigger alarm if movement continues or field interrupted longer. You can adjust sensitivity to your liking. Should work with any alarm system. Have it in all my vehicles. My Sidekick that didn't have one they stole a light bar from.

I'm thinking of eventually trying this magnetic switch.
Directed Electronics 8600 Micro Magnetic Switch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009SUEZY/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_K2e5wb0XG7X9M

Hook it up using a relay to activate my alarm. Or just wire up a separate alarm/siren to go off when the magnets are separated! I could probably attach the non wired module to the bar in the middle on the underside. And attach the wired module to top of roof and hide the wire under the windshield weather stripping. So they don't see the wire and attempt to cut it as well.

Pretty sure this would work. Not sure how it would hold up to the elements though. But I'm sure it could be waterproofed even more. Just not sure how it'd hold up to the sun.
