Mid lift install, need advice

Putting on eibach 112-620's and 5100's set at .85.

Following this method;

Put the new strut and coil in place, placed the bolt for the bottom strut/LCA.

Problem: the angle of the LCA is so straight and low, I can't get a jack under it to re-compress everything. Has anyone else dealt with this?? Did I do something wrong in a prior step?

 

You got your spring perch on upside down. Flip it over and you should be good

 

You shouldn't be able to see your snap ring

 

You could carefully jack under the shock bolt eye until the spring compresses enough to get the top shock bolt mounted. Then you should be able to get under the lca

 

Figured I had done something stooge worthy. ^^ that was the issue. Thank you.

 

Lets see if we can go 2 for 2. Ran into another issue I cant seem to figure;

At the stage of reconnecting the ball joint and steering knuckle, but theres a significant gap between them. Moving them closer so the bolt can grab misaligns the holes. In the OME video they line up nice and flush... so I'm thinking I goofed somewhere.

Input appreciated.

 

First things first, make sure your sway bar is disconnected. That will allow things to move more freely.

Also jack the truck up untill the frame ALMOST comes off the jack stand. This means it's compressed as much as possible. them use a long rod/breaker bar/big wrench to stick into the coil spring and press down onto the upper control arm. This will push it all together.

If you do all this, you should be able to align the two bolts up

 

If done correctly your spindles should move freely to align the upper ball joint

 

loosened the swaybar, and that did the trick. Then tightened her all back up.

Gonna do final torques in the morning, I'm beat. My floor jack quit on me so I was using the OEM bottle... and it took way too much effort.... and I'm freakin' done for now.
